The Micro-Manager

The micromanager is probably the most infamous of all the bad bosses.  They reality is they suffocate people and they know it and they tend to believe it is a necessary evil.  The most frequent motivations for micromanagement are emotional insecurity, doubts regarding employee competence, or addiction to specific orders.Severe forms of micromanagement can stifle opportunities for the learning and development of interpersonal skills, completely eliminate trust, and even provoke anti-social behavior.  As leaders, we have to ask ourselves: is there anything, any quota,  goal, or any task worth us putting the mental and physical health of our employees at risk?
