She had been beaten over the head with a golf club, and then fatally impaled through the neck with its broken shaft. But this would prove to be no rudimentary murder investigation. That's because the most likely suspects belonged to one of the most notorious extended families in all of America - the Skakels. Perhaps the best-known of all the family members was Ethel Skakel, wife of Robert F. Kennedy Sr., the former US Attorney General and brother of slain former President John F. Kennedy. Of course, RFK himself was also assassinated while running for president just 7 years earlier, in 1968.
