The Next Hill, Pt. 1

from FRCP Sunday Morning Sermons

In 2 Timothy 1:6-12, Paul encourages Timothy to fan into flame or "kindle afresh" the gift of God that was given to him. For what purpose? So that Timothy would continue to be an effective participant in God's ultimate purpose in the work of the Gospel. At this time of year, we often make resolutions. Kyle talks about how our resolutions should not just be for self-improvement, which is often just vanity, but so that we can continue in our work of glorifying God by accomplishing his purposes in the world. If following God is like being on a hike, then we need to do what's necessary to get over the next hill. So what is your next hill and are you willing to tackle it?
