The Orchard's Face

from After Midnight Tales · host After Midnight Tales

A horrifying series of events following the death of a child, Elsie, who was buried in the family’s pear orchard. Struggling with grief and financial pressure, her parents agree to have experimental grafting technology installed in their trees to increase yield. Soon after, a single fruit grows on Elsie’s tree, rapidly developing features resembling her face and body. The mother, Marissa, becomes obsessed with the fruit, treating it as if it were her daughter. When a company assistant attempts to interfere, Marissa’s desperation escalates into murder, with the father helping to conceal the act by burying the body. The narrative concludes with the fruit being destroyed during a violent storm and subsequent fire caused by the experimental technology, and the father secretly removing a second seed to prevent further horror, while his wife’s fragile sanity clings to the idea of replanting it.You can listen and download our episodes for free on more than 10 different platforms:https://linktr.ee/after_midnight_talesProduced by Podcai Studio:https://www.podcaistudio.com/
