The Reality of Things 5: New Mass vs the Old Mass - The Set-up

The theology of the Novus Ordo Mass is different from the theology of the Traditional Latin Mass. Several factors point to this including the creator of the New Mass, Anibale Bugnini, and statements he made regarding removing any and all things uniquely Catholic that could be a stumbling block to Protestants. Also six Protestant ministers were approved by Paul VI as collaborators in the creation of the New Mass. The Vatican II document Sacrosanctum Concillium stated the intent to “revise, simplify and discard” certain elements of the Traditional Latin Mass.
