While researching this album, Phil listened to part or all of The Holy Bible every day for about a month and came off worse than Morgan Spurlock but, paradoxically, felt more enriched for it. Amongst many other points of conversation, in part one of episode four we talk about why Manic Street Preachers chose to record the album at a £50 per day studio in the red light district of Cardiff, how that studio was responible for the austere, unforgiving and in your face sound that The Holy Bible is renowned for and then get stuck into analysing the album track by track.
