This week, we’re wrapping up our deep dive into The Secondary SLP Roadmap by covering Chapters 13, 14, and the conclusion. We’re talking all about what it really looks like to target articulation and social skills with secondary students, especially when time is limited and goals need to feel functional and relevant. We also dive into one of the most important (and often overlooked) areas in secondary settings: life skills. In this episode, we discuss how to approach articulation with older students in a way that feels age appropriate and meaningful, strategies for targeting social skills without relying on overly structured or unrealistic activities, why life skills deserve a central place in your therapy planning, and ideas for making therapy more functional, practical, and aligned with real world outcomes. We also reflect on The Secondary SLP Roadmap as a whole and share some of our biggest takeaways from the book.And, a quick update on what’s next for the podcast…This is the final book we’ll be covering in this format.
