The Six Human Needs - An Introduction - with Paul Lowe

from Soul & Success · host Hina Solanki

Everything we do in life is done in order to fulfil a need. If we strip back these needs and requirements, we can clearly identify that all human needs centre around six very primal, very established necessities.   In today's show, the first in a series of specialised conversations about this fascinating subject, Hina talks to Paul Lowe, host and creator of the Mastering The Game Of Life podcast, about the six basic human needs - how to identify them, and how to make sure that each need is being effectively served.   KEY TAKEAWAYS   The six human needs are a need for certainty, a need for uncertainty (variety), for significance, for love and connection, for growth, and finally the need for contribution. The need for certainty, or uncertainty, can manifest itself in many different ways. The most common form of endorsement comes in the structuring of routines in our lives. These routines often then lead to a desire for disruption or uncertainty. Validation in business and life come in the form of congratulations or merit. We seek these awards in order to feel that sense of achievement that convinces us that we are on the right track. It also serves to feed our competitive nature. Many people settle for connection rather than love, for fear of being hurt if they lower their defences. But the pain we feel in the fallout from love's sting is a price worth paying. Love is always the greatest gift we can hope for.   BEST MOMENTS   'I created an almost military-like way of living' 'I've lived within that goldfish bowl - that prison - for so many years' 'Everybody is unique. We are all important. We all have our own strengths and weaknesses' 'To love somebody, we need to learn to love ourselves'   VALUABLE RESOURCES Feel Fabulous Podcast Hina Solanki - https://hinasolanki.com Permanent Makeup Guide by Hina Solanki (Amazon) Dance With The Universe by Hina Solanki (Amazon)   Mastering The Game Of Life   ABOUT THE HOST   Hello and welcome to the Feel Fabulous show with Hina Solanki. NEWMORROW SESSIONS - A PodCast Series on the Future of Hospitality Mario C. Bauer, Florian Schneider, Axel Weber & Dr. Tillman Bardt The Newmorrow PodCast is more than a podcast — it's a platform for open dialog on the future of our business, a platform for those building what doesn’t exist yet. Here, we share and embrace our passion for the hospitality industry, but we won’t romanticize the journey. We ask the tough questions, confront uncomfortable truths, and prepare for a future that resists easy answers. We believe that the tougher and wilder times become, the more openly, honestly and humanely people need to talk to each other and act together. We believe, openness, togetherness, and truthfulness should also be cornerstones of a professional community to develop our utopian idea of „open source“. This is a space where visionaries don’t just imagine the future — they wrestle with the paradoxes that shape it: success vs. happiness, data vs. instinct, stability vs. reinvention. Join leaders, entrepreneurs, and thinkers as they share not what made them — but what’s actively shaping them, now and next.
