The Sixers Made Incredible Moves (PST Show #320)

from The Philadelphia Sports Table | Philly Sports News & Views · host The Philadelphia Sports Table

The Philadelphia 76'ers have had an interesting offseason with the draft and now in free agency. While many had concerns about GM Elton Brand's methodology during the draft, we're now seeing some positive steps being taken during this free agency period. To get into this Sixers free agency and what it means for the team heading into the 2019-2020 season, we brought onboard Tom West, writer and contributor at LibertyBallers.com and the Sixers Film Room. It's a great interview you won't want to miss if you're a NBA or Sixers fan!But first, we got into some Phillies talk as J.T. Realmuto was the only Phillies selected to the represent the team in the upcoming All-Star game. We also took a look at the Phillies first-round draft pick from 2019, SS Bryson Stott. (2:35)We then discussed our thoughts on the responses to our Eagles Twitter poll question; who was your favorite Philadelphia Eagle to watch and play on the field? (14:30)After that, we dove into some Flyers talk as the team signed veteran goalie Brian Elliott to a 1-year deal, and we also talked about why there's no real excitement for this team heading into this coming season. (19:35)This week on the Highbrow Segment, we discussed NBA free agency and how max deals get done. How has this process changed over the years, and is it good for the NBA? (28:20)Then on the Lowbrow Segment, we talked about what sport and position would we have wanted and strived to play as a professional. (42:40)What we're throwing down on the Table this week is an in-depth discussion with first time guest from England who writes about the Sixers on Liberty Ballers, Tom West. We first talked about what grade Tom would give Elton Brand after his first draft and free agency experience. We then shifted to how important Josh Richardson will be in order for the Sixers to be contenders in the Eastern Conference. What will Shake Milton's and Zhaire Smith's roles be in the future? And what else might we expect in free agency from this Sixers front office? All of this and much more this week on the Table! (49:35)
