Digital transformation isn't about buying the shiniest new tech. It's about people, process, and yes, technology. So, the skills we need fall into three core buckets:    1. Agility and adaptability:  The digital landscape changes quickly and you have to be agile. Embrace change, learn new things on the fly, and be comfortable with a little bit of organized chaos.    2. Data fluency:  Data is critical to a digital transformation.    You need to be able to collect, analyze, and interpret data to make informed decisions. Learn to speak the language of data – it's the key to unlocking valuable insights.    3. Customer obsession:  In the digital age, your customers are key. Develop a customer-centric mindset. Understand their needs, wants, and frustrations. This is where service design thinking comes in – but that's a whole other episode! Check out Season 6 Episode 25 where I go into detail about Service Design     Beyond the Basics  Those are the core three, but here are ones that you can't forget about:  Storytelling: Data is powerful, but stories connect. Learn to communicate your digital transformation vision in a way that inspires and motivates your team.  Collaboration: Break down silos and foster collaboration across departments to break through roadblocks and achieve your goals faster.  Embrace Failure: Look, some things won't work out perfectly. That's okay. Learn from your missteps, adjust your approach, and keep pushing forward.    Building your digital transformation team  You might not have all these skills yourself, and that's okay. Surround yourself with a diverse team who bring different strengths to the table. Look for people who are curious, creative, and comfortable challenging the status quo.
