The Sufficiency of the Gospel Message - Part 2

In 1 Corinthians 1:17-25, the Apostle Paul explains very clearly that the gospel message of Jesus Christ crucified is all that is needed to bring someone to salvation. When man's wisdom enters the equation, not only is it not helpful, but it is destructive to the purposes of the gospel. Because of that, God not only WILL destroy all of man's wisdom but has already proven that it is useless and harmful as you consider the real effects wrought by it. Since God knew that man's wisdom could not bring anyone to God, He chose to overrule man's wisdom through the "foolishness" of the gospel message, the only true way to really know God. God has established the gospel of Jesus Christ as the "testing stone"--either people will find sanctuary in it, or it will cause them to stumble.
