The Twin Goals of Human Existence – Rev. Dr. Mary Edosomwan

from Connected Leaders Academy

Connected Leaders Academy In the grand tapestry of human existence, two themes stand as chronometer of our journey: life and death. These twin goals shape our aspirations, dreams, fears, and philosophies. They are the milestones that define our time on Earth, guiding our search for meaning and purpose. Living well and dying well encapsulates the essence of what it means to be human. As we navigate through the joys and tribulations of life, we continually strive for fulfillment, happiness, and a legacy that outlives us. Similarly, in facing the inevitable end, we seek dignity, peace, and a sense of closure. This exploration delves into the profound interplay between living a meaningful life and embracing death with grace, highlighting the ultimate pursuit of humanity in achieving a harmonious balance between the two. Discussing death openly in American society can bring profound benefits to both those facing the end of life and their loved ones left behind. When death remains a taboo subject, it can foster fear and anxiety. Open discussions about mortality help demystify the process, making it a more natural part of life. Open discussions about death also enable informed end-of-life decisions, such as creating advance directives and choosing hospice care, ensuring that preferences are respected and reducing uncertainty. Moreover, normalizing conversations about death creates a supportive environment for those grieving, helping alleviate feelings of loneliness and prevent complicated grief and depression. Addressing death provides a framework for mourning, allowing loved ones to prepare emotionally for the loss and facilitating the healing process. Acknowledging the inevitability of death can lead to a greater appreciation for life, encouraging mindfulness and the pursuit of meaningful activities. Lastly, such discussions also address practical aspects, like financial arrangements and funeral plans, easing the stress on those left behind.   Rev. How do they overcome the challenges along the way? What are the keys to creating enduring change?  Through in-depth conversations with business and technology leaders, Mike and Marc answer these questions and explore how businesses evolve by pulling four key transformation levers: people, process, technology, and culture. NEWMORROW SESSIONS - A PodCast Series on the Future of Hospitality Mario C. Bauer, Florian Schneider, Axel Weber & Dr. Tillman Bardt The Newmorrow PodCast is more than a podcast — it's a platform for open dialog on the future of our business, a platform for those building what doesn’t exist yet. Here, we share and embrace our passion for the hospitality industry, but we won’t romanticize the journey. We ask the tough questions, confront uncomfortable truths, and prepare for a future that resists easy answers. We believe that the tougher and wilder times become, the more openly, honestly and humanely people need to talk to each other and act together. We believe, openness, togetherness, and truthfulness should also be cornerstones of a professional community to develop our utopian idea of „open source“. This is a space where visionaries don’t just imagine the future — they wrestle with the paradoxes that shape it: success vs. happiness, data vs. instinct, stability vs. reinvention. Join leaders, entrepreneurs, and thinkers as they share not what made them — but what’s actively shaping them, now and next.
