The mighty galactic senate, which represents 3,000 species across 17 spiral arms, was shaken to its core by a handful of primates from a wet rock on the unpopular edge of the Orion arm. Senator Lurin Parker of Earth walked into the senate chamber and spoke plainly for his people. The senate noted Earth's request, but citing galactic protocol 7329B said Earth had not yet met the technical or social maturity requirements for full participation. And Earth, as an observer state rather than a full member, is not fully bound by all senate laws. The United Earth government does not accept the Senate's right to dictate resource allocation in a system we colonized.
