Here is today's news: - Monday August 8th from 3 to 7 pm, Fay’s Finest Foods LLC is hosting their BBQ fundraiser! This is brought to us by Aurora Township to benefit senior and youth services. Dinners are $16 for either drive-thru or carry-out. The food is good, the cause is great, and this benefits our Aurora youth. See the flyer for more details and save the date! - This Sunday there will be a raising of the Juneteenth flag as the city prepares for a great weekend of activities. During the ceremony the trailblazer award will be presented to exceptional Aurora youth! The flag raising ceremony begins at 2 pm at One Aurora Plaza, 8 E. Galena Blvd. This is presented by the Aurora African American Heritage Board and the Aurora Divine Nine Alliance. - Our friends of Marie Wilkinson’s Food Pantry are collecting items for our men for Father’s Day! The collection is going from June 1st to June 30th. Our studio here at Good Morning Aurora is just one of many locations you can visit to drop off toiletry items. You can drop them off at Marie Wilkinson’s located at 834 N. Highland avenue, State Representative Barbara Hernandez’s office at 540 W. Galena, and State Farm offices located at 2003 Montgomery Road, suite 101. Our studio is located at 5 E. Downer Place, Suite T and is open from 7 am to 3 pm for collection.
