Thursday, February 1, 2024 - Get caught up on "Cop City," Kemp's Border Ploy & an anti-woke whiner

from The Ron Show · host Ron Roberts

Outside of some random arson incidents targeting construction equipment and some demonstrations, it's been pretty quiet on the "Cop City" front - and to hear my guest, Alex Joseph, tell it - that's by design. There's palpable frustration in a movement implored to go about their opposition in a lawful manner when overwhelming turnout at council forums were brushed aside and a petition effort has been bogged down by the city hoping to prevent a referendum from landing on a ballot. Hear what the former federal prosector and legal advisor to the "Stop Cop City" movement has to say about all of this - and why she believes it's still important to keep fighting despite the ongoing construction of the embattled training facility. Governor Brian Kemp is heading to the Texas to join the GOP photo op that is the southern border. He, like most Republicans, has zero interest in solving the immigration "crisis," though; he and his party is just fond of being inhospitable to Latin Americans while preening about their Christian values. Listen, I'm not wild about President Biden capitulating with this immigration deal, but if it's just him calling their bluff, it's a waster stroke. The New York Times"The Morning" column today gives a fair assessment, by the way. A since-deleted tweet from David Pollack (the former UGA football player and former ESPN college football analyst) saw him wading into "anti-wokeness." Surprise surprise, right? Another talented, but intellectually challenged privileged white heterosexual man is triggered by the woeness "bogeyman." Sad.
