Time of Trouble The Great Tribulation and Rapture Christ also spoke of this time of trouble preceding His second coming when He said, “For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again. If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened” Matt 24:21-22 KJV. 21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. 23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. [Mat 24:21-22]. In Mat 24:29-30. Christ goes on to explain to His disciples that His second coming will bring this time of trouble to a close: Immediately after the distress of those days ‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’ At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory Jesus will come back before the Tribulation True Believers are not under the Wrath of God; true born-again Christians are not under the wrath of God They have obeyed His Word and accepted the gift of salvation for their sins through the blood atonement of Jesus Christ. The reason for the Rapture of the Bride of Jesus is that the Bridegroom returns to take His Bride to the Wedding Supper of the Lamb. Jesus will come back before the Tribulation
