Time to Pray 5 June

from St James’s Time To Pray · host Derek Neil Winterburn

Acts 4:35-36 32The company of those who believed had one heart and soul. Nobody said that they owned their property; instead, they had everything in common. 33The apostles gave their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus with great power, and great grace was upon all of them. 34For there was no needy person among them, since any who possessed lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sale, 35and placed it at the feet of the apostles, who then gave to each according to their need. 36Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, to whom the apostles gave the surname ‘Barnabas’ (which means ‘son of encouragement’), 37sold some land which belonged to him, brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet. Teach us, good Lord, to serve thee as thou deservest; to give and not to count the cost; to fight and not to heed the wounds; to toil and not to seek for rest; to labour and not to ask for any reward, save that of knowing that we do thy will, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen St Ignatius
