The definition of encourage is to inspire with courage, spirit, and hope. We as Christians are called to encourage. The Bible talks of the importance of lifting each other up throughout scripture. It is easy to see the negative in a person’s actions, their personality, whatever it is that doesn’t appeal to us. When we take our focus and shift it to the good, to what that person is doing right, encouraging that can bring such great works. Accountability for our fellow Christians and discipline for our children is important, but not for reasons of punishment, but rather for guidance. The worth of a person comes from God. We are all growing and learning, if we are not we are stale. We are to motivate others, especially in their Faith!

‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬-‭14‬ ‭ESV
”Command and teach these things. Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching. Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you.“
‬‬
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬-‭9‬ ‭ESV‬‬
”His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.“
