El TOC, el trastorno obsesivo compulsivo, es un trastorno frecuente que afecta a 1 de cada 50 personas, tanto entre niños, adolescentes, o adultos. El trastorno obsesivo compulsivo es una patología, que como su propio nombre indica, se compone de dos tipos de síntomas: las obsesiones y las compulsiones. Las obsesiones serían pensamientos, impulsos o imágenes que nos vienen de una forma intrusiva, no queremos que nos vengan, pero aparecen, son irracionales, absurdas y que nos proporcionan un elevado malestar. Y las compulsiones, conductas o actos mentales, que tenemos que realizar muchas veces para intentar mitigar o anular esas obsesiones que estamos presentando. Las obsesiones y compulsiones pueden ser de diferentes tipos, entre las obsesiones pueden destacar las obsesiones de limpieza, sentirse sucio, tener que lavarse varias veces. Hay compulsiones de contaje, de repetición de números, de frases o hacer las actividades de forma repetida . Todos podemos tener obsesiones o compulsiones, pero NO TOC. Es importante distinguirlo. En las personas que tienen este trastorno, esas obsesiones les ocupan mucho tiempo, les causan dificultades en su día a día... En este capítulo, la Dra.
