Tomás - The Legend of Mannyville 2017-2018

A song about a place we go to every April to celebrate special days. Every April we as a family gather to this wonderful and scenic countryside where my parents' friend, Manny, has built an old western town on his property. His family travels from Utah, my parents from Paso Robles, my ex and my son from Bakersfield and me and my boy from LA, (and other family from around SLO county). The first time I went there I was blown away by the town he built and had a great time staying there. When I was preparing to go the next year, I suddenly felt this urge to write a song about this place and came up with this bizarre story involving traveling back in time and being a part of the old west history. In the story telling style of one of my dad's favorite singers, Marty Robbins, and with a chant from the band XIT in a song called "The Anthem of the Native American" written by Tom Bee, I came up with this song. I hope you enjoy the tune, and the story.
