Nigel shares his journey, which began with his father, who was also a musician and band director. He explains why his father had him start with the clarinet before transitioning to the saxophone, and how he made music fun to keep him motivated. Nigel discusses his experience as a saxophone major in college and the shift in his focus from being a jazz musician to a versatile working musician. He shares his experiences touring with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and working on a cruise ship, where he honed his skills. Now based in Atlanta, he enjoys a balance of playing gigs and pursuing other interests, such as instrument repair.
