ביאור על הנ"ל (לט, א)להבין ביאור הדברים ע"פ "המגביהי לשבת", צריך להקדים ב' הקדמות. א: דאיתא בפרדס שהטעם שבכל דבר ישנו שמן הוא מפני ששמן הוא בחי' חכמה. והנה, שמן הטוב הוא חכמה דקדושה, ושאר שמנים הם חכמה דנוגה, חכמה שבשכל אנושי. ב: ענין "ותורה אור" הוא שלפני הצמצום האיר בחי' מלכות דא"ס, ובה הי' הצמצום, וכוונת הצמצום הוא שע"י עבודת האדם יומשך בחי' מל' דא"ס בעולם כמו קודם הצמצום. וגילוי זה הוא ע"י התורה, "ותורה אור" (שהפתילה הוא בחי' קו וחוט הרומז לבחי' צמצום האור, אך על הפתילה מאיר בחי' ותורה אור).ועתה נבוא לביאור הענין ד"נר ה'" כפי שהוא בנשמה, דאור הוא אור א"ס, והפתילה הוא נה"א, והשמן שממשיך את האור הוא בחי' השכל דנה"ב שפועל את האור מפני ששרשה הוא בתוהו. והענין שדוקא ע"י הירידה למטה באה הנשמה לבחי' בכל מאודך שהוא בחי' בלי גבול, ולכן נקרא בשם אש, דבמים הנה המים נחסרים כששותים מהם עם רב, משא"כ האש יכול להדליק ריבוי נרות ואין נחסר מאורו.והנה ע"פ המשל מאש גשמי יובן בענין האהבה דבכל מאדך, דכמו שהאש הוא בע"ג מ"מ יכול להדליק ממנו אין קץ, כך האהבה שע"י ההתלבשות הנשמה בנה"ב הוא בחי' בכל מאודך, שאף שאינו בלי גבול מ"מ הוא למעלה מבחי' הכלים שלו ולכן עי"ז נמשך אוא"ס הבלי גבול, משא"כ הנשמה מצד עצמה היא בחי' פתילה שהוא מוגבל. והנה, צריך להיות גם הנר דהמצוות, שהרי לא עם הארץ חסיד, והמצות הם בדברים גשמיים ששרשם מתוהו, ולכן על ידם מאיר האור, שהמצוה היא הפתילה. והנה, המצוות הם בבחי' מקיף שכל דבר שרוצים להעלותו צריך להקיפו תחילה, ולכן לובשים טלית ותפילין לפני התפילה.
