The KERKHOVEN, a United Colonies mapping vessel, is manned by a four-person crew. Their pervue is the documentation of meteors, comets, and other orphaned celestial debris that threatens the shipping routes between the Alpha Centauri and the independent systems. Most days are dull and produce no object in which to judge at all.
