Operations at the Port of Oakland in California have resumed after a pause due to protesters, who were there to speak out against AB 5. The law, which has gone into effect after a lengthy legal battle, aims to reclassify owner-operators as employees of carriers. Some protesters remain on site, but are using “free speech zones,” and not impeding operations, according to a port representative.
