Trauma X Neurodivergence Part 1

from Cosmic Leadership · host Adalina East

As a trauma therapist and neurodivergent person, I have A LOT to say about how trauma therapy is adapted for those of us who are neurodivergent. Have you ever been in a situation where you are hearing things other people don't hear (like electricity happening), smelling the lunch the person five rows away from you, or dying of a headache due to the fluorescent lights? I know, I've been there too.  This means that "normative" trauma therapy needs to be adapted to fit our brains. We need to find protocols and use adapted protocols that work for us! In this epsiode, I will share with you my story of neurodivergence, as well as the beginnings of how to make adapated trauma therapy work for you. This is a 2-part episode, so be sure to tune in next week for more!
