Good morning & happy Tuesday! It's time for the news! We have our friend Diesel back in the studio with us. Let's do it: - Tomorrow is the day for a great community event! Our friends of the Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry are having their annual Radiothon! Radiothon! Yaaaaay! This will take place Thursday the 15th from 6 am to 7 pm; 95.9 The River will be joining and will be at a lot of places and you can be too! - Syrup from 6 to 10 am (1961 W Galena) - Spartan House from 11 am to 3 pm (1032 Prairie Street) - AC’s Pub from 3 to 7 pm (2124 W Galena) Shouts out to our friends of the Food Pantry, sponsors like Dolan & Murphy & Konen Insurance. And of course River Rock 95.9! - Our friends of AgeGuide are hosting the Senior Lifestyle Expo! This is the largest annual expo in the Midwest for older adults. This year the event will be virtual; join them for two days of educational sessions, memory cafe's, entertainment, exhibitors and more, all from the comfort of your own home! The event will take place August 17th & 18th from 10 am to 4 pm. Attendance is free but registration is required, to do so, click the link here: https://www.seniorlifestyleexpo.org/ - The 20th Annual Aurora East Educational Foundation (AEEF) benefit golf outing, a fundraiser for scholarships and faculty projects, will be held Thursday, July 15, at Phillips Park Zoo, 1001 Hill Ave. in Aurora. The public is invited. The schedule is: 11 a.m., regitwistration; noon, box lunch; 12:30 p.m., shotgun/scramble start; 5 p.m., dinner; and 5:30 p.m., awards program. The purpose of the event is to raise funds for mini grants to support student scholarships and education-focused projects by faculty. The AEEF distributed $1,000 scholarships to 18 East High seniors last spring and plans many mini-grants to teachers and staff this fall. Included in the entry fee are 18 holes of golf with cart, gift package, box lunch, refreshments, social hour, dinner and prizes. Fees are $140 for individuals and $500 for foursomes. Sponsorship's are available for $250, $750, $500, $1,000 and $1,200. Dinner only is $35. Registration is limited to 124 golfers. Deadline to register is July 12.
