  • Interesting Times - Aurientalism

    11/15/2017

Radio Morpork is a podcast that discusses Terry Pratchett's Discworld one book at a time. Colm & Steve travel to the Aurient to tackle Rincewind's return in Interesting Times. They ramble on about legacy, colonialism, revolution and an absolutely epic finale. They've reached the stage in the series where there's a lot of comparing Discworld books with Discworld books (and also the point where they fawn over the UU Faculty and Twoflower a lot).

Episode Description

Part one of an amazing episode with our most sought after guests of all time!

Tyler and Kendra are an amazing couple with very different backgrounds who have spent the past year working at an Ayahuasca retreat center in Costa Rica. They are both wonderfully creative and passionate about a wide variety of subjects.  Jen met Tyler in film school in Ithaca, then lived in Los Angeles together where they worked on some terrible movies and went hiking!  Jen met his wonderful partner, Kendra, when she visited them in Portland Oregon where their time together was cut short because they were urgently rushing off to standing rock.

In part one we discuss:

  • How they met and very intentionally transitioned their relationship from friendship to undying love!
  • Starting living together as a couple by hiking the Pacific crest trail
  • The ins and outs of World building
  • Working with Native American people
  • A different perspective of fitting wellness into the american healthcare system

Stay tuned for part two where we get deeeeep into working with plant medicines, especially ayahuasca.
