Meanwhile, the villainous KDF (Kaiju Defense Force) is on a mission to annihilate all kaiju, including a baby kaiju that Ken ends up adopting. Ken's mother, Emiko, is revealed to be alive and sending messages from Nebula M78, the home of the Ultramen. She wants Ken and his father to come to Nebula M78 to save the Ultramen from extinction. The KDF steals something from the hideout of the Gigantron, and it's revealed that they plan to destroy the kaiju island and kill all the creatures. Ken's father, Professor Sato, comes to his rescue as Ultradad, and together with the Gigantron mother, they defeat the KDF. In the end, Ken embraces his role as Ultraman and saves the day with a surprising team effort. The movie ends with a mid-credits scene where Emiko is seen in Nebula M78, hinting at a possible sequel.
