US cuts tariff on M'sia to 19%; Clash between Puad and Saravanan continues

[KiniNews] United States President Donald Trump has imposed a new 19 percent tariff rate on Malaysia, as the deadline takes effect on Aug 7.The new rate represents a six percentage point reduction from the 25 percent reciprocal tariff announced last month.The White House announced that Trump signed an executive order yesterday, modifying the reciprocal tariff rates for certain countries to “further address our exploding, annual US goods trade deficits”.Meanwhile, in a separate story, in the second instalment of the escalating feud between Umno supreme council member Puad Zarkashi and MIC deputy president M Saravanan, the political drama of the last general election has come roaring back into focus.Puad accused the MIC strongman of political double-dealing, while Saravanan recalled the post-GE15 turmoil, where Umno’s “No Anwar, No DAP” stance left BN leaders in a state of political paralysis.___________________📌 Share this news!
