Washington is pressing a familiar demand across West Asia: armed groups should surrender their weapons to the state.In Lebanon, a new US-backed trilateral framework identifies Hezbollah’s disarmament as a central goal. But Hezbollah says it will remain a resistance movement, while its supporters argue the group is also a major political force representing Lebanon’s Shia community.
