This month we talk to Director of Solid Waste, Chad Centola and Incoming Director, Tim Brownell. They discuss the landfill siting process and some of the adventures on their jobs. You won't want to miss this very interesting conversation.

This episode digs into the leachate, or "Landfill Juice" produced by landfills in stagging amounts. This toxic liquid is produced from decomposition of the debris plus rainwater, and surface waters in combination with groundwater intrusion. It is supposed to be collected and processed but has components that aren't able to be removed. Overflow and treated leachate goes eventually into rivers and downstream water supplies.
