Walk as children of light

from Ephesians · host Christ Church Bromley

Matt preaches a topical sermon from Ephesians 5 on pornography. Our youth groups (11-18) were in church for the sermon and Matt taught it in an age-appropriate way to help everyone, including parents and young people. The average age for first seeing porn is 13; about 27% have seen it by aged 11. Some resources Matt hopes will help: 1.   An encouraging sermon by John Piper entitled 'Gutsy Guilt' which you can access here: https://www.desiringgod.org/messages/how-to-deal-with-the-guilt-of-sexual-failure-for-the-glory-of-christ-and-his-global-cause. It applies to sins other than porn use too. 2.  For those struggling: please tell someone. A physical person can help you best. But alongside that http://nakedtruthproject.com is a Christian organisation where you can access anonymous and free support. 3.  For parents: blog post with resources from Faith in kids is here: https://www.faithinkids.org/lets-talk-about-sex/ There are books on the left hand side of the church bookstall which may be of help. 4.  Books that are helpful for us all: By Vaughan Roberts here: https://uk.10ofthose.com/product/9781784981976/talking-points-the-porn-problem-paperback and for women especially by Helen Thorne here: https://www.thegoodbook.co.uk/purity-is-possible By Tim Chester here: https://www.thegoodbook.co.uk/captured-by-a-better-vision 5.  It's not just Christians who are concerned. Christian Nonprofit CFO David Beroth Financial leaders in ministries are often ill-equipped to address, let alone overcome, the many challenges they face. Too often they pivot from crisis to crisis, running on a tactical treadmill instead of proactively contributing strategic value to their nonprofits. Unfortunately, the full impact of their ministries suffer. It is time for this to change.Now.Paul says in Ephesians 4:12 that God gave leaders “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” God wants to equip us so that we might significantly impact others. This is what this podcast is designed to do. While there are many firms with their corresponding podcasts that provide technical insight on audit, tax, and legal matters, there are few that provide insight on how to lead on a day-to-day basis to reach your nonprofit’s goals. This is what we are going to accomplish at Christian Nonprofit CFO.Come join me on this journey! Explore with me how we Sermons of Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones MLJ Trust The MLJ Trust presents original audio recordings of the sermons of Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones (1899-1981). Dr. Lloyd-Jones’ principal ministry was at Westminster Chapel, in central London, from 1939-1968, where he delivered multi-year expositions on books of the bible such as Romans, Ephesians and the Gospel of John. She serves as a Pastor at Doxa Deo, is actively involved in women’s ministry and is also a leadership training consultant for xpand. She is passionate about helping people discover their gifting and calling, as well as investing in the next generation.Carol-Anne is married and has two teenage children. She loves coffee and chocolate way too much for her own good and she is crazy about her husband (who, by the way brings her coffee in bed every morning!). The Pactum The Pactum Theological Discussion for Christ's ChurchThe Pactum is shorthand for the Latin Pactum Salutis. The Pactum Salutis is the trinitarian covenant made before the foundation of the world spoken of in texts such as Ephesians 1 and John 17. It is also known as the covenant of redemption. According to the pactum salutis, the triune God who works all things after the counsel of His will commits to save elect sinners. Since the pactum salutis is the basis for all of God's work in human history, we find The Pactum a fitting banner for our conversations of all things theological.
