War, Homelessness & Never Giving Up - The Unbelievable Story Of An African Refugee | Chance Ndume

from Young Blood - Men’s Mental Health · host Cal MacPherson

Chance Ndume's story is one the world needs to hear and one that will blow your mind. His young life has been haunted by trauma since running for his life from militia who wanted him dead...and his troubles were only just beginning. Chance is a refugee from the Congo who hasn't seen his family since he was 9. He's had the world on his shoulders with everything against him, enduring suffering that would have been more than enough for most to give up...but he hasn't. He made it to Australia only to find himself homeless. Miraculously putting himself through school while sleeping on the streets...That was before he became a mentor for disadvantaged youth, in the hope of keeping others out of the darkness that threatened to swallow him whole. Chance's journey is a jaw dropping testament to the human will to survive and his commitment to living a life for the good of others is enough to inspire us all to do the same. He hasn't made it out unscathed by any means and bares psychological wounds that may never fully heal. Chance is passionate advocate for youth mental health and ending homelessness. He's now on a mission to change the world and the 21 year old will make you believe nothing is going to stop him now. This is the most astounding story I've ever been told face to face and I am truly grateful to share it with you.
