Mindfulness maakt ons brein fitter: helpt het ontspannen, focussen en beter om te gaan met stressvolle situaties. Mindfulness laat ons meer “in het moment” leven. Mindfulness, of aandachttraining, is het tegenovergestelde van leven op de automatische piloot. Wat kan helpen de aandacht vast te houden is bijvoorbeeld bewust ademen of bewust bewegen. Ontspanning en bewust ademen is iets wat je eigenlijk kunt leren en oefenen. Zodra je leert hoe je 'echt kunt relaxen' zal je ook in staat zijn je beter te kunnen concentreren.
