For the season of Lent, @Scottthepainter is joining Mark in creating a series called WEAK & STRONG. In this series, we will explore how these two characteristics are a part of a life with Jesus. In this sermon, we consider the paradoxical nature of our faith. Mark 9:14-29 DISCUSSION QUESTIONS: - Mark shared how a life with Jesus is that of weakness and strength; of vulnerability and power. How does the Gospel move us to greater vulnerability and greater strength? - How would you define paradox? -Read the story found in Mark 9:14-29 and consider the elements of paradox there? - Where are the places in your life where you could echo the father's words- "I believe but help my unbelief!" - Scott ends the sermon considering Jesus' words in this passage- some things can only happen through prayer. What are the barriers in your life to believing or practicing prayer. - Lastly, did anyone find any significance to meditating on the image or prayer shared on the postcard?
