This week’s show celebrates local authors, favourite books, beloved characters & Putney!Our ‘Local Hero’ is author Kamapala Chukwuka who noticed that local libraries did not have books with characters in who her children recognised. She wanted to increase the diversity of what was available for her children to read and decided to be the change she wanted to see! Now she visits schools all over Wandsworth reading her stories and encouraging children to write their own. 'If you can see it, you can be it!’ is her mantra. The ‘Local Lowdown’ features a talking tour of Putney celebrating this corner of our boroughs and is studded with little know facts.
