Our guest is Ady Rubio, drop-in supervisor for Alive Aurora and a recent winner of the Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award. Today we will learn about Alive Aurora and discover more about the programs, staff, and what's next for this great organization. Let's get ready to learn! Here's the news:- This Saturday, June 10th from 8 am to noon the Aurora African American Health Coalition will be presenting the 16th annual Health Fair. This will take place at the Pricso Center (150 W. Illinois ave.) and is free and open to the public. Health screenings, snacks, vendors and much more will be on display. Come out and support health and wellness in our community!- Join our friends of the Neighbor Project for their 2nd Annual Community Day to be held at Everlasting Word Church (22 N. Highland ave) on Saturday, June 10th. This will be a fun family event with music, food, and of course housing resources and information. The event is free and open to the public, and in collaboration with many great sponsors. This event will be held from 11 am to 1 pm, we look forward to seeing you!- Monday, June 19th the City of Aurora will host the Juneteenth Flag Raising at One Aurora Plaza (8 E. Galena Blvd). The flag raising will take place at 1 pm with many special guests. In attendance will be the famous South Shore Drill Team, Mr. & Miss Black Aurora and Earle, Arkansas Mayor Jaylen Smith. Mr. Smith holds the distinction of being the youngest black mayor in America! Save the date and come experience a great community event!
