Tiffany Moss abused her step-daughter, Emani Moss, so severely that she lost her job as a preschool teacher. Once that happened, she became a stay-at-home mom to Emani and her own two children. With her husband, Eman Moss, working two jobs to support the family, the mother began starving Emani until she died just days before Halloween in 2013.
