Charleston is forecast to hit **82 degrees**, absolutely crushing the old record of 81 set back in 2009. In Here's catch, this summer preview is a Trojan horse. Highs in Central West Virginia will launch to **84 degrees** by **1 PM** in Charleston and Clarksburg. You'll want to get those outdoor plans done early. By **4 PM**, that cold front crashes the party with a bang. Thunderstorms roll in. And rain becomes likely by **7 PM**. The temperature drop is just as dramatic—falling from **84** this afternoon to **56** by tomorrow morning. Up in the Northern Panhandle. Wheeling and Weirton peak around **78 degrees** by **2 PM**. You're slightly cooler, but your storm threat arrives sooner—look for storms around **5 PM**. The National Weather Service is warning of damaging winds as the primary threat here. Down in Beckley and Bluefield, you're flirting with **77 degrees**. Your storm window opens earliest, with a slight chance of rain by **1 PM**. Here's your heads-up for the week ahead. Sunday stays soggy and cooler with highs in the 60s. Monday looks like a pleasant reprieve near 70 degrees. But hold on—Tuesday brings another round of storms. And by Thursday morning.
