There is an obstacle to your mental health, and it’s you. Just like when we refuse to ask for directions, or double down on an argument already lost, sometimes our pride prevents us from getting the help we need. Pride can mean different things, but the definition of the negative context of the word is having an inflated view of self. Our importance, abilities, self-centered-mess all are inflated. It isn’t always coming across as arrogant. Sometimes our pride looks like an extremely low view of self. Pride is a huge barrier to our journey towards health and towards God. The best example is found in 2 Corinthians 12:5-10. In this passage Paul embraces his weakness so that he can see God’s power made perfect in him. There is so much healing and help in having a right view of self. That is true humility. You are so valuable…and you are also broken and in need of a God who loves you and wants to do something new and great in your life (Talk by Joshua Ott)

The Preaching at Community Evangelical Free Church of Harrisburg Community Evangelical Free Church of Harrisburg Jesus Christ welcomes the worn out, the downtrodden, the abused, the skeptic, and the sinner with open arms. He drew near to us when we were far off and gave us good news of hope in him. We offer that same good news to all those who would come to us. We want to be a people marked by grace instead of condemnation, hope instead of despair, and real change instead of complacency with the status quo. We are not perfect. We are not flashy. We are a community of weak, wounded, and wayward people enjoying the living Jesus.https://www.communityfreechurch.org Refuge Church (Utah) Brian Sauvé Refuge Church is a Bible-preaching, Jesus-loving, Gospel-centered fellowship of Christians in Ogden, Utah. In a world that can be transient and isolated, we seek to be an authentic community. A place where you can have conversations, share meals, and develop true friendships--a place where you are free to be yourself without fear of rejection or shame. But we aren't simply a community center or social club--we are a community grounded in Jesus Christ. Saint Peter's is a place where you can connect to Christ and learn what it means to follow him. And as you do so, we're confident that transformation will take place. And with that personal change comes change in our homes, our neighborhoods, and our communities. This, to us, is the work of grace. Community. Connection. Transformation. That's what Saint Peter's is all about.
