What Is Colorism?

from How'd I Get Here Podcast · host How'd I Get Here Podcast

Often times we look outside for the blame of our problems. However when it comes to colorism we have nowhere else to look but inward, at our own culture and people. Colorism is "prejudice or discrimination against individuals with a dark skin tone, typically among people of the same ethnic or racial group." But why do we kill ourselves? Or in this context why do we put our own people down? We sat down with Jovi, a beautiful queen to discuss this issue and her life experiences within it. There is no easy solution, but building community, presenting opportunity and supporting each other is a start. Tap in with this weeks episode!
