What Is Holding You Back?

from Heart-To-Heart With Jewel Chima · host Jewel Chima

Hello, there! My name is Jewel, and you're welcome to my podcast show. Here on Heart to Heart, we will share our thoughts and ideas. I started this podcast because I believe we all crave authentic and meaningful conversations that resonate deeply with us and leave us feeling seen and heard. That is why I will be vulnerable in this episode. What is holding you back from doing those things you planned to do at the beginning of the year? What happened to your New Year's resolution? What is that one thing you promised yourself you'd start this year that is still undone? An online class? Becoming more outgoing? Hitting the gym consistently? Starting a new project? I believe, like me, you are probably carrying this weight of unfulfilled intentions too, and you are probably already saying you will go again next year. Don't wait until next year. Let's make today our New Year's Day. I challenge you to pick one thing that has been postponed. Just one. And do the smallest, messiest, most imperfect version of it right now. Don't wait to be perfect. If you start today, by January 1st, you won't be setting a resolution; you'll be six weeks into a habit. You'll be rooted, grounded, and unstoppable. You'll be a runner, not someone who 'wants to run.' You'll be a doer, not a planner.I started this podcast as my own promise to stop holding myself back. Now, I want to hear yours. What is the one thing you are starting this week? Let me know on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/hearttoheart_with_jc?igsh=cjZ2Zjc3azM3aWhr). You can also send an email to [email protected]. Additionally, if you have a topic or question you'd like us to explore, please don't hesitate to send me a message. I'd love to hear from you.I want to leave you with this thought: You will never know what you can do until you give it a shot. If all the great people we know about today held back because of fear of failure, we would never have heard about them or what they achieved. You don’t have to start perfect or confident. Start now and build your confidence as you go. The only thing between where you are now and where you want to be is you. Love yourself enough not to hold yourself back.If this episode resonated with you, the absolute best way to support the show is to hit that subscribe or follow button right now and share with your loved ones. That way, you won't miss a single one of our Thursday heart-to-hearts.Thank you so much for taking a moment to connect with me. See you next Thursday.
