Summary
Where have You come from? Where are You going? Two great questions to ask of ourselves as we stand on the edge of a New Year. They are also two questions asked of Sarai's maidservant Hagar by the Angel of the Lord. Hagar has become pregnant by Abram, Sarai's husband, and has run away to avoid domestic abuse. What might the New Year bring? How might we navigate it successfully? This recording was made at St Oswald's church in Askrigg at our first Communion Service of 2026 on Sunday January 4th at 10:30am. It was a celebration of the life of the Church in 2025 and included a 'Covenant Prayer' of commitment to follow God's path as we walk through 2026. The recording is longer than usual as it contains three testimonies from church family members about some aspects of church life in 2025 and how God has blessed them. A year of change lies ahead for the Church, Internationally, Nationally and Locally. We might not know what the future holds BUT we can know the one who holds the future!
