I know that’s a hard pill to swallow but until we face the truth, we can’t heal it. White teachers are conditioned to perpetuate white supremacy and anti-blackness. The reason why our students of color are failing school is because the presence of whiteness works against the success and well being of non white students. Because our schools are saturated in white ppl, we can’t see the presence of white supremacy in our schools. White teachers view children of color from a deficit mindset. Listen as I explain how whiteness is devastating for our students of color and how white teachers can do less harm if they insist on being teachers.
