Why Are You Not Impressed With God?

Are you inconsistent? Why don’t you get involved? Why don’t you come to Sunday School? Why don’t you come on Sunday night? Why don’t you give to your church? Why don’t you give to your pastor?  God pays all the bills in our life. He pays for the light in the day? He pays for the nightlight during the night. He pays for our water and other utilities.  Humble Impression Our pride gets our way. Jeremiah 9:23-24; worship, singing, Psalm 38:5; why not sing in your private time? God knows when you’re going through the motions. God doesn’t like a fake. Isaiah 1:10-18; if your heart is not right with God then He will not hear from you. Zechariah 7:3-7; are you doing life for yourself or for God? Are you just going through the motions? Isaiah 48:17-18; God wants us to worship Him because it’s the best thing for us.  Healthy Impression God wants your obedience not because He is a control freak. God has feelings, don’t hurt them. Your spouse knows when you’re not into them anymore. Malachi 1:8-11, 13; 2:17; we get weary with God yet He also gets weary with us. We get tired of Him and we don’t appreciate Him. When was the last time you read your bible and got something good out of it? He doesn’t float our boat. When was the last time you approached God with the WOW? Isaiah 43:24-26; when was the last time you gave your wife some flowers or chocolates? When was the last time you gave God some “flowers or chocolates”? When was the last time you gave something sweet to God? Mary didn’t intend to take any of her oil back because she broke the container it was in. God didn’t ask her to do this, she did it because she loved Him.  Helpful Impression Do you enjoy God? Psalm 16:8, 11; we’ve made Him legalistic and religious. We have our own religiosity. God must be your banana split, your vacation home, etc. If you really love God then you’ll enjoy Him. Loving God with all of your heart, mind, soul, and strength will straighten out your life. Try doing this the next time you want to do something without God. Habitual Impression We like to brag about our life. We brag about the fish we caught. We brag about our grand-kids. When was the last time you bragged about God? For those that are saved, God wrote your name down at the beginning of time. How He knew you before your mother knew your name is beyond comprehension. God is all-knowing. A lost person’s best day can’t compare to a saved person’s worst day. A lost person’s worst day can’t compare to their life in Hell.
