🚨 WINTER STORM WARNING - North Dakota Weather 3/14 - Evening
from The North Dakota Weather Podcast
Good evening. North Dakota. I'm Michael Mosby. In Here's reality for your saturday, a major winter storm is bearing down on the state. Heavy snow and dangerous wind will make travel very difficult, especially in the south and east. If you're on the roads tonight, you'll want to be extremely careful. Snowfall spreads across the southern two-thirds of the state this evening, while it tapers off from northwest to southeast late tonight into Sunday morning. The strongest winds will hit south central and southeast North Dakota, while the southern James River Valley could see near-blizzard conditions. Expect widespread blowing snow with visibility frequently dropping near zero. Temperatures are running well below normal. This arctic air mass keeps highs 10 to 20 degrees colder than usual through Monday. Lows tonight will drop to 5 below zero in the north, with single digits elsewhere. Highs on Sunday only reach the teens in most spots, wind chills will make it feel much colder. Looking ahead, a strong warming trend arrives by the middle of the week. We climb from the teens on Monday to the 50s and 60s by Thursday and Friday. A wintry mix is possible Tuesday, bringing a chance of snow and freezing rain. Expect dry and mild weather for the end of the week. See you tomorrow.
