Winter Storm Watch | Ohio Weather Noon

Good afternoon! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Ohio Weather Podcast for Monday, February 23rd. That dusting of snow on your windshield this morning? Just the appetizer. Northeast Ohio is getting the main course right now. A Winter Weather Advisory runs until 1 AM Tuesday. Lake effect snow showers are likely through 9 PM, piling up another inch or two. Gusts hit 32 miles an hour, kicking up patchy blowing snow that'll mess with your commute home. Folks, if you're up near Cleveland or Akron, temperatures are sliding backward. You started at 29 degrees around 11 AM. By 7 PM, wind chills drop to a raw 19 degrees. That's the kind of cold that finds every zipper gap in your jacket. Slide south to Columbus and it's dry but blustery. Gusts near 29 miles an hour are shoving around anything not nailed down. Highs barely scratch 32 degrees before sinking to 20 tonight. Down in Cincinnati and the southwest corner, you're the warm kids today. A brief snow shower this morning, then cloudy skies and highs near 35 degrees. Practically tropical by comparison. Now.. The week ahead tells a bigger story. A clipper sneaks through Tuesday night into Wednesday, dropping light snow, mostly northeast. Then Thursday a strong low pressure system rolls in. Models are still arm wrestling over the track, but confidence is building for accumulating snow statewide. That's the one I'm watching closely. And then the plot twist nobody saw coming. By Saturday, southwest Ohio could flirt with 60 degrees. A 25 degree swing in 48 hours. Only in Ohio does your week go from snow boots to sunglasses that fast.
