Wired for Safety

from Fully Nourished® · host Jessica Ash

In this episode, I’m doing something different—reading one of my Sunday articles aloud. This article, "Wired for Safety," gained traction in an old-school viral way, and I felt it was worth sharing. This was inspired by an Instagram exchange where a woman called me a "heretical witch" for stating that the female body is an oracle. Despite her outrage, I stand by my belief that a woman’s body is designed in a way that naturally sustains life and ensures safety.A woman’s nervous system isn’t just about her survival—it’s wired to manage her environment. Our biology is wired to assess safety, which is why we experience stress, fear, and uncertainty so intensely The male and female brains are structurally different, which significantly influences how each gender perceives and interacts with the world. While male brains are generally larger due to body size, female brains have stronger connections between the hemispheres, particularly in areas like the hippocampus and corpus callosum. This allows women to process emotions and logic simultaneously, whereas men tend to compartmentalize and focus on tasks sequentially. Recognizing and embracing these differences can lead to greater understanding and harmony in relationships, as well as a deeper appreciation for the unique strengths each gender brings to the world. I’m diving into all of this and so much more in this episode, and I hope you’ll join me. Tune in today! In this episode:[00:37] Welcome back to The Fully Nourished Podcast![02:42] The female body as an oracle. [04:24] Why is the female nervous system wired the way it is?[10:46] A woman’s self-hunger in a masculine society. [13:59] When does brain differentiation happen?[17:23] What are the key differences between the male and female brain?[23:54] Women have different memory processing, intuition, and self-perception than men.[28:34] We need to allow room for men to fulfill how they are wired.[30:31] You can not change if you do not accept who you are. [32:56] Thanks for joining me on The Fully Nourished Podcast!Links and Resources:Submit Questions Here: https://airtable.com/appoicByQy3UFoSXs/shrXwD7wQFJQr68NnSign Up for Sunday Tea Here: https://jessica-ash-wellness.ck.page/04f86a550fGet more info on Philosophia Society Here: https://www.jessicaashwellness.com/philosophia-societyDiscount Codes from Our Sponsors:Subluna:https://shopsubluna.com?sca_ref=6575731.SiVwQ6X9YX*Code JESSICAASH for 10% offIG: @shopsubluna*This is an affiliate link. CBS Radio Mystery Theater goldenclassics CBS Radio Mystery Theater (a.k.a. Radio Mystery Theater and Mystery Theater, sometimes abbreviated as CBSRMT) was a radio drama series created by Himan Brown that was broadcast on CBS Radio Network affiliates from 1974 to 1982, and later in the early 2000s was carried by the NPR satellite feed. The format was similar to that of classic old time radio shows like The Mysterious Traveler and The Whistler, in that the episodes were introduced by a host (E. G. Marshall) who provided pithy wisdom and commentary throughout. Unlike the hosts of those earlier programs, Marshall is fully mortal, merely someone whose heightened insight and erudition plunge the listener into the world of the macabre (in a manner similar to that of The Man in Black on yet another old time radio program, Suspense). As with Himan Browns prior Inner Sanctum Mysteries, each episode of CBS Radio Mystery Theater opened and closed with the ominous sound of a creaking crypt door, accompanied by Marshalls disturbing utteran Play Fully! kidnexxions Do you feel ’stuck’ when it comes to having fun with others or PLAYING?
