Women’s Health - challenges and practical solutions to delivering menopause care in general practice

In this podcast, Zoe Tobin (Nurse Advisor at Wessex LMCs) is kindly joined by Dr Camilla Janssen (Hampshire GP and Vice Chair & representative for the HIOW LMC), who has an interest in women’s health and has explored innovative ways of delivery in General Practice. Topics covered include: What are the current challenges in the delivery of women’s health in general practice for both the patient and the clinician? What practical solutions are there to overcome these challenges? Camilla shares examples of initiatives implemented at practice / PCN level, including: Patient group education - examples of initiatives implemented, such as a PCN mass education session & 6wk menopause support group Access to trusted resources - development of a PCN website, where link can be sent via AccuRx to patients, contains educational resources and access to a patient questionnaire that can be completed prior to a menopause consultation, providing key background information in advance.
