Messy Revolutions
11/03/2022
With so much social unrest in the world, the ladies felt compelled to dedicate episode 46 of the Messy Truths Podcast to the subject of revolutions. From the anti-government protests in Iran, to the Black Lives Matter movement, the ladies dive into what a revolution really means and how rights for one group sometimes results in the diminishing of rights for others. Politics. Protests. Revolutions. It's all messy! Azar kicks things off by providing an overview of how outrage over the detainment and killing of Jina Amini (Mahsa Amini) sparked the recent global protests against the government of Iran (3:05). Nesha explains what it means to be an activist and revolutionist (19:34) and that leads to the topic of discrimination in Canada. Mar touches briefly on Quebec's recent passing of Bill 21, which bans civil servants in Quebec from wearing religious symbols while working for the government (26:35). Nesha speaks on how women's fashion and afrocentric hairstyles have been revolutionary (40:10). Azar then asks if there has really been significant change since the Black Lives Matter protests (42:27). Additionally, Mar shares why she is not always a supporter of using social media as a tool for protesting in western nations (1:02:40). This episode is dedicated to Jina Amini, and so many others who have lost their lives unnecessarily to systemic oppression. ********** If you like this episode, here are some others you might enjoy directly on our website: Messy Celebrity Makeup Stories with Nikki Somatic Sex Therapy with Chiara Album Reviews | It's Better than Drake Adulting is Hard Pt. 2 Love Sessions: Married at First Sight with Sex Therapist Charlene Douglas ********** Connect! Messy Confessions
12/15/2022
Welcome to episode 48 of the Messy Truths podcast! In this episode, the ladies explore Reddit, one of Mar's favourite apps. Particularly the r/confessions subreddit where people unveil their most vulnerable confessions on the interweb. Nesha and Mar get vulnerable and give a confession of their own before they and Azar reads some salacious posts on the air. Do you like confessions? Are you a fan of Reddit? This show has the best of both and some of the posts are pretty wild. For example: An engaged woman confesses that she is turned on by her physiotherapist. An Afro-Latina woman confesses her thoughts on skin complexion. A person confesses that they are tired of their girlfriend, but refuses to leave the relationship. A Redditor talks about their experience microdosing on magic mushrooms. A boyfriend admits to catfishing his girlfriend. A heterosexual male in a relationship always seems to find himself masturbating when looking at his male neighbour. Listen to the entire show for these confessions and much more! Anti-wave

Cannonball of Death
Welcome to Anti-wave Podcast, where Robert Cannon + Ira Heffler discuss all your Anti-wave movie needs. What the hell is Anti-wave, you ask? Great question. In short, Anti-wave is a way to describe films that seek to buck the typical Hollywood trends. Anti-wave is an opportunity to reimagine the way we construct genre films. Anti-westerns have been popular in the years since WWII, but where are the anti-sports films that try to shake off the expected formulaic writing? This podcast tries to find those films for you. Along the way, we deliver some laughs, get into film theory, and speak with filmmakers who share our anti-sentiment. So, welcome to Anti-wave Podcast! We hope you enjoy the ride.

We thought it was a good idea to make a podcast, we could've been wrong. We are Zach, Conor, Don, Mark, Ian and Jackie and we are four friends with a mission, to make a dumb podcast. Come hang with us as you listen to conversations we'd have even if we weren't recording. Filled with topics that span from Movies to Music and of course Notes With Conor, which is sure to make you go "what". Hopefully you'll laugh at our intentional and sometimes unintentional comedy and if not, well you're probably smarter than us.
